Visitors’ guide

My blog is expanding and I feel that new readers might want more information about what it contains, how it works, and where to find what.

For the first few months, Writing for keeps was updated along the lines of a schedule explained here. It turned out to be a great idea, since it helped to get my blog really started, as well as to define its content and purpose. Now that it’s on track, I’ve decided to give my fancy free reign again, and share with you whatever I will consider worth sharing.

About the My ratings page: Rated novels or novellas are listed first in alphabetical order by authors, and below in rating order as well. The books I’ve reviewed here have their titles hyperlinked to the relevant entries.

Quick descriptions of my categories:

Art
This is where I talk of anything concerning visual arts, including illustrations and graphic novels.

Bio
Any entry in which I reveal something about my offline life will go in there.

Cinema
Because I sometimes review movies. (Although I’m slightly cinephobic.) TV shows will probably fit in there if I ever decide to write about them, too.

Cooking
Because I love cooking. And eating it afterwards. ;)

En français
Une gracieuseté pour mes lectrices et lecteurs francophones. If you don’t speak French, learn it! Whatcha waiting for?

Faith
For all issues spiritual, metaphysical or outright religious.

Fun
Because I’m serious most of the time, but sometimes I’m not. Silly tests, random stuff and memes.

Literature
This is obviously bound to be a big category. All reviews and other topics pertaining literature are there.

Music
Because I (rarely) go to concerts… And for every time I feel like embedding a nice music video in my posts.

My writing
Shameless self-promotion, updates about my stories, and general info about my writing process.

Politics
Not just because I study political science (it’s more “political philosophy” at the moment). Anything that involves relations of power, the organization of society, belongs to the political field.

I love discussing and debating about anything. If you feel that my reasoning is flawed or shaky, don’t hesitate to comment on it! I don’t write to be unanimously approved. In fact, I often consciously leave loose ends or vague concepts in my own posts in the hope that someone will call me out on it. (And also because I don’t mean to turn my blogs into academic lectures.)

If you’d like to request or ask me anything which I haven’t covered in my entries, or which you feel might look awkward as a comment, please use Formspring! That is specifically why I’ve created it. You can even ask anonymous questions, not that you’d have a good reason to resort to that. ;)

Enjoy your visit and come back!
